Afin d'intégrer une université étrangère ou d'attester leur bon niveau
d'anglais auprès d'un employeur, les étudiants ou salariés doivent obtenir un
score élevé à des tests tels que TOEFL, TOEIC et IELTS. Parmi les épreuves de
ces tests figure une rédaction à écrire en 300 mots environ, souvent sur un
sujet de société. Or, force est de constater que le système universitaire
français prépare peu les étudiants à ce genre d'exercice. Les auteurs ont par
conséquent voulu fournir aux candidats un manuel qui leur permette à la fois de
renforcer leurs bases grammaticales (31 chapitres d'explications et d'exercices
corrigés), d'étoffer leur vocabulaire (20 fiches thématiques), et de maîtriser
les techniques nécessaires à l'écriture d'un essay correspondant aux critères
exigés par les tests anglo-saxons (60 essays entièrement rédigés et
didactisés). Christel Diehl enseigne l'anglais des affaires à l'Université
